It was the third marketing call
He had got for the day.
Fed up, he kicked back,
With a round of whiskey on the rocks
And got to reminisce.

For he knew he wasn’t much of a talker,
But he had two people in his life
Who checked on him everyday.
And even though he tried,
With his busy schedule,
He couldn’t reciprocate the gesture.

But now, with them no more,
And realizing the fact
That with all the time now,
Even if he tried, it wouldn’t matter.

So as the bottles lined up,
The whiskey made his neglects,
Easier to overlook.
