The Proposal

Along a starry night, there they were, wandering.
As the night turned cold, his warmth became her shelter.
But in a journey that seemed forever
She was clueless to the purpose.

He rode for hours and hours.
But alongside the sea to the tune of the waves
With a blanket of starry skies, she held onto him, tight.
But he grabbed onto something tighter, something,
For a journey that was yet to begin.

It was close to sunrise.
And there they were reaching an old ruin against the shore.
They stopped and walked towards it.
As the sun came up, he turned towards her,
Against the backdrop of the waves crashing onto the rocks,
To the red orange setting of the sky,
Dropped on his knees and took out this white platinum ring
And looked straight at her eyes.
