A wedding sentiment

As the priest recites the rituals,
Preparing the Agni,
It raises the warmth of the mandap!
And with emotions running haywire,
The bride looks at her mother
Locking eyes with her,
Tears start rolling down.

But as the melam begins
The groom ties the knot.
And as she feels the weight
Of it on her neck,
As it is, on her life
She looks at the groom.
‘Hi pondatti’ he says
And she has an outburst,
One of joy and smiles!

She turns to her mother again,
But this time around
She was all smiles,
Seeing them together,
As husband and wife!
